$1 Adoption Days in Pasco

Owning a dog is more affordable than ever right now in Pasco County.

That’s because Pasco County Animal Services is offering a “Dollar Dog Days of Summer” sale that allows people to adopt select dogs for $1.

"These dogs have been vetted, they have a microchip, and also have been spayed or neutered,” according to a county press release. “The regular price is $70.00 for the adoption and $10.00 for the license.”

But through September, the county is allowing people to adopt select dogs for $1. With the $10 license, that is a $11 total for adoption and license fees.

“The shelter is over the capacity for care. We are beyond full and we need to get these dogs into homes,” said Acting Animal Services Manager Kevin Mallory in a news release. “Hopefully this special will bring citizens into our Adoption Center and get the dogs matched up with a perfect owner. This is a great opportunity to bring home a special friend before the summer ends.”

Are you a cat lover? Cats are also available for adoption for $40 per cat. Cats over 6 years of age are just $16.00. Senior Citizens  (55 and over), veterans and active-duty military receive a half-price discount.

August is also Back to School month with educators and students with an ID receiving a half-price discount as well.
