I ran for Congress because "the majority" has zero representation in Washington in a political system under the complete control of corporate America. If we had representation, would we still be fighting the longest war in American history? Could Wall Street nearly cause a second Great Depression and nary a soul be held to account? Would access to comprehensive health care be an unaffordable luxury more than a right? Would we be forced to choose between Social Security and national defense? Would "the majority" feel quite so helpless as we watched our destiny and that of our children slip from our grasp? Name politicians are offered millions to run by playing ball with the elite, while those of us who refuse to play, yet offer detailed solutions, are for the most part hidden from public view, in a game choreographed by corporate media where we are the losers. The game is to protect the easily manipulated two-party façade of democracy as well as its players, in a system based almost entirely on money. cont'd
I stand alone in this race in advocating an end to combat operations in Afghanistan in order to bring our troops home. I will demand repeal of the National Defense Authorization Act's freedom-robbing provisions, the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act. Your voice will be heard in resisting the Trans-Pacific Partnership. I am endorsed by the Green Party of Florida; Alex Snitker, Libertarian Party leader; and David Cobb, founder of Move to Amend. I promise to provide the independent voice and representation in Washington that speaks for us. It is your choice. I ask for your vote.
