Fasano Named Tax Collector
Mike Fasano, a veteran lawmaker from West Pasco County, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to take over Mike Olson's former post.
Pasco County has a new tax collector, but his face shouldn’t be unfamiliar to residents.
State Rep. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, was appointed to the position Aug. 6 by Gov. Rick Scott,according to the Miami Herald. Fasano has served Pasco County for years, both as a state senator and representative.
Fasano replaces Mike Olson, Pasco’s longtime tax collector, who died in June at the age of 68.

The appointment, which Scott plans to announce personally in Pasco on Wednesday, lasts through November 2014, according to the Herald.
