Connerton Elementary Gets New Principal

The Pasco County School Board appointed Aimee Boltze to fill the post vacated by beleaguered Principal Anna Falcone.

Connerton Elementary students don’t have to end the school year wondering who will sit in the principal’s office in August.

The Pasco County School Board acted on Superintendent Kurt Browning’s recommendation to appoint Aimee Boltze to serve in the post formerly held by Anna Falcone. Approval for the permanent appointment came during the board’s May 21 meeting.

Boltze has served as the interim principal of Connerton since Browning recommended the termination of Falcone earlier this year. That recommendation came on the heels of allegations that Falcone had violated confidentiality and acted insubordinately.

“It was brought to my attention that Mrs. Falcone persisted in seeking confidential information after repeatedly being denied the information by her superiors,” Browning said in the media release earlier this year. “I cannot and will not tolerate such insubordination, especially when it brings into question the integrity of this school system.”

Faclone plans to appeal her termination. A hearing is set for June 6 to address the matter, said Linda Cobbe, Pasco County School Board spokeswoman.

Boltze began her teaching career in 1996 in Hillsborough County. She came to Land O’ Lakes’ Denham Oaks Elementary in 1997 and has worked within the district ever since. Her most recent position before taking over the post at Connerton involved serving as the district’s supervisor of human resources.

Boltze holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida, according to a memo sent to the school board by Browning.
