Free Back-to-School Heath Fair for All Pasco County Students

Morton Plant Mease sponsors the first Back to School Health Fair in Pasco County history.

Help your children start the upcoming semester with a clean bill of health by stopping by the free “Back to School Health Fair" on Saturday, Aug. 6, in New Port Richey.

Although similar "Back to School" events have taken place in Pinellas County for more than 18 years, this event will be the first of its kind in Pasco County and will be available for all prekindergarten through 12th-grade students attending Pasco County schools. The fair is sponsored by the and

More than 200 parents have called and registered their child for this event thus far.

In order to receive services, students younger than 18 must have a signed permission slip or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Permission slips will be on hand at the registration desk. Students older than 18 must bring a photo I.D.

A wide array of services will be offered. All students can receive school physicals and a general health screening. Free fingerprinting will be provided by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. High school athletes will be offered free sports physicals as well as an ECG and echocardiogram. The will be offering free dental screenings and school immunizations. North Bay organizers are adding cardiac screening to the event.

To receive these services, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have their immunizations records.

The event will be held at the Morton Plant North Bay Medical Arts Building located at 6633 Forest Ave. in New Port Richey. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
