Land O' Lakes Christian School Hosts Open House Thursday

Prospective students are invited to tour the school and meet teachers and staff.

Land O' Lakes Christian School, 5105 School Road, will host an open house for prospective new students from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26.

"We’re a ministry of First Baptist Church Land O’ Lakes, and our school has been around for over 30 years," secretary LeAnne Fuller said in an email.

Founded in 1978, by the Rev. Chuck Rigby, "The primary objective and purpose of the school is to train the student in the way of life presented in the Scriptures while giving him a good general education," according to the school's website.

The school offers "traditional classroom settings" for grades pre-K3 through 12, Fuller said.

"Realizing the differences in innate abilities, we encourage and expect each student to do his best. We believe the traditional system of education strengthens the mind and builds character," the school's website states.

The open house is "an easy way to tour the school and meet all of the teachers and staff," Fuller said.

There also will be a science fair that night, Fuller said.

Those who are unable to make it for the open house can call or email the school for an appointment for a tour with the administrator, Fuller said.

Open enrollment for 2012-13 school year begins Feb. 21.
