Lennar Homes Raises Money for Pasco Schools

The company's recent Autism Walk raised more than $5,000.

Representatives from Lennar Homes presented a check for $5,701.50 to the Pasco County School Board during its meeting July 3.

The donation represented the proceeds from Lennar's Autism Walk, which will benefit programs in Pasco County Schools.

Lennar employee Stephanie Farmer coordinated the event, and told the board there was a story behind the 50 cents in the check.

Her son, who has autism, asked her for $1 to buy a lollipop that day. He came back with 50 cents in change. When she asked him why he didn't get two for the $1, he said he wanted to donate the 50 cents to the cause.
