Update: Pasco School Closing Decision Coming Later Today

The school district is one of the few in the Tampa Bay area that still officially plans to open tomorrow.

Update 2:19 p.m. Aug. 26: Pasco County Schools spokeswoman Summer Romagnoli said the district is waiting for a 3:30 p.m. briefing to make a final decision.

Pasco County students and parents who have been waiting to hear if schools will open tomorrow have to wait a little longer.

According to the Gulf High School website, a decision isn’t expected until sometime after 4:30 p.m. Both Pinellas and Hillsborough counties have suspended classes for tomorrow as Tropical Storm Isaac makes its way into the Gulf of Mexico.

The latest track reports show the storm shifting west as it gains strength, but the entire Tampa Bay region remains under a tropical storm warning.
