Baseball Commissioner May Enter Rays' Talks With St. Pete

Bud Selig described talks between the city of St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay Rays as "stalled."

Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig may get involved in negotiations between the Tampa Bay Rays and the city of St. Petersburg.

The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that Selig said Thursday that he may have to intervene in the talks. He said that Rays owner Stuart Sternberg said the talks were "stalled."

The city has opposed efforts by the Rays to scout for new stadium sites beyond the St. Petersburg border.
