Firework Time Limit: Your Responses
You let us know when you think the cutoff time for fireworks should be!
We asked you when people should stop lighting fireworks and you responded and let us know what you thought through your comments on our boards, articles and Facebook.
Eddie Yacobellis said "11 oclock, of course who cares what I say, people were lighting off fireworks last night here in Beacon Groves! Happy 4th America!!"
Shelly Finch Worden said “Be considerate of your neighbors....11:00 is plenty late enough.”
Claire LeBlanc said "All I can say is, 2 am is too late, and they're usually still going off then"
Virginia Ruppert said "I don't think there should be a limit. I would rather them all be set off on the 4th vs the week prior and after the actual holiday!"
Tina Sullivan Speciale said "Who cares on this one night...let everyone have fun. Buy earplugs if you need to sleep earlier..."
Laura Weldon said "My horrible neighbors set them off all year long. Along with the crazy loud music they have set off fireworks till 2 in the morning. On top of that I have a pool cage and usually they are drunk firing them off. They land in my yard and burn holes in my pool cage."
Gina S said "I think probably compliance with normal noise pollution codes should be fine... maybe 11pm at the latest... Or maybe three hours after sunset"
Rcarol said "In my neighborhood, people started shooting them off a week early and will most likely continue shooting them off long after the 4th is gone. There is no time limit, they go well into the late night (midnight) and drive not only myself, but my dogs, crazy."
Nancy Stearns said "I don't really mind the noise but I do object to those thoughtless ones who shoot flying rockets or whatever into my yard and don't realize the hazard of a potential fire or the litter these items leave behind. By all means celebrate our wonderful country but realize the hazards involved not only to others but themselves as well."
