Lutz Service Memorial Rededication Set for Sunday

All veterans are invited to attend.

A that kicked off on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks reaches its culmination this weekend.

Members of the Pasco-Lutz Junior Woman’s Club are ready to unveil the recently refurbished Lutz Service Memorial to the community this Sunday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.

The service memorial was originally created to honor everyone who served the community, said William Hoedt in a previous interview. The longtime Lutz resident was instrumental in the memorial’s creation. According to Hoedt, the memorial serves as a thank you not only to military personnel, but also police, firefighters, volunteers and others.

The woman’s club took on the project to refurbish the memorial when members realized it was in a state of disrepair.

“(We have) been busy cleaning, painting and replanting for the past two months and are now celebrating its completion,” said club member Sharon Caltagirone-Grace.
