My husband and I are so saddened by the closing of Splash! We've dined there once per week forRead More years and already miss it. We have so few really good restaurants in N. Tampa, Lutz & LOL. It's a great shame to lose this excellent restaurant. Hopefully Chip & Co. will reopen in another location nearby.......

This is a wonderful family activity - I love taking groups of ladies out to learn to shoot sportingRead More clays! Really builds their confidence and gets them comfortable with a shotgun.

What the heck.....now what?

Thank you Starbucks! I have always hated walking through the cloud of smoke to get inside aRead More restaurant. I hope other restaurants will do the same.
Patricia Serio June 1, 2013 at 06:31 pm
Delighted that Starbucks is putting an end to the smoke at the entry. It's very offensive to walkRead More by and have the stench of smoke on our hair and clothing when we in fact do not smoke ourselves. Thank you, Starbucks.

So sorry things had to turn out this way for this loving family who have given their heart &Read More soul to this restaurant. My only hope is that life holds a positive next step for them. Lutz and the Tampa Bay area will miss this icon for sure. My prayers and best wishes to the Gaudin & Curtis families. Aunt Carolyn

We've been going to Red Hydrant since almost the beginning. I would NEVER take my dogs anywhereRead More else or trust them with anyone else. No way. They have been there for my family in more ways than just my dogs' groomers. I consider them part of my extended family.
Shannon Dempsey April 6, 2013 at 02:59 am
We have been taking our mini schnauzer to The Red Hydrant since we moved to FL in 2006. I can'tRead More imagine taking Cole anywhere else for a grooming. They love Cole as if he's their own... Martin & Roman are professionals, represent the epitome of customer service and take their business very seriously. In addition - they are simply just wonderful people. I highly recommend The Red Hydrant.
Karen Dempsey April 6, 2013 at 03:22 pm
We love Roman & Martin. We have been taking our girls to them for years and after a recentRead More move, still travel 70 miles to have them groomed by Martin. Thanks guys for making our Bella a celebrity!

Absolutely, bring Magpul to Florida! The TV comedians need MORE reasons to make fun of this state!

The most exciting, inspiring and motivating environment I have worked in as a teacher was early onRead More in my career. All of the teachers collaborated, shared ideas and approaches. Everyone worked together to help each other develop the most effective approach for individual students and for groups. Everyone shared and helped each other with the primary focus to help the kids grow to their highest potential. There is no reason that school districts cannot work together to inspire each other so that Florida can rise in the state rankings and maybe be a model for other states. We are all in this together.

If we want radical change, we need to change the way schools (and teachers) are judged. We need toRead More get rid of the school grading system and standardized tests all together. I realize that will never happen because there are too many politicians making money off the the tests. But, if we want real improvement that's what needs to be done.

Get in involved and help with the solutions to our communities needs. Education is a huge part ofRead More the solution and in many cases the problem. We have let our teens run the schools for too long, and many of out teens are facing very real adult situations because of it. We do have a teen drug, pregnancy, bullying and suicide problem right here in Pasco, We have a generation of teens that are lazy, lack any idea of accountability and commitment. Many teens are in broken homes, many go hungry, others are stressed as they watch their family fall apart. This too is huge concern for the schools as teacher see students fall deeper and deeper into depression. The test scores and class rooms will not change until the local broken family changes. It is our responsibility as parents and community leaders to help Kurt Browning, our dedicated school teachers and even Sheriff Nocco and his staff. Pasco is in a bad way, however, we can make it better. How? 1. We have to stop telling ourselves it will not get better.2 We have to stop acting like it is not our worry. We have to stop turning away from a teen that needs help! We have to stop ignoring the family that needs someone to talk too. 3 As a leader each of us needs to equip our teens and even adults to survive. 4.we need to stop living the self full-filling prophecy of Pasco is no good, and that every teen is future drop out, or its all moon lakes fault, or only the good kids live in Trinity. Wake up Pasco we can fix this.

Pizza Fresco is good too. Nice sauce and it's 2 miles west on 54 from 41. Ms. Hutcheson may simplyRead More not have known the distance factor. All things are relative to what you are used too. Give her a break & a second chance at this. She was simply sharing a food discovery, right? It's not like we have allot of wonderfull or, even close choices here. Thanks for the tip Ms. H.

Sounds good to me, but would restaurants lower the cost to consumers or just take more profit?
Charlesworth Longtooth III May 1, 2013 at 06:42 am
The basic profit structure for most restaurants dictates huge profits for alcohol, and they areRead More necessary for most to stay open. Wine from a keg would give owners more leeway for more deeply discounted specials the same way most do now with keg beer, such as 2 for 1 during happy hour or like Chili's and do it all day long. But one thing they probably will not do is offer 24 oz glasses of wine like some do with beer.
Michael D. May 1, 2013 at 12:52 pm
Charlesworth, It is huge profits for almost all drinks (except water). But with the buyer alreadyRead More conditioned at higher prices there is no incentive to lower them.

What cafe do you run? I go to St. Pete and Tampa often for little adventures and ALWAYs need a cupRead More of espresso or coffee for the trek back to Sarasota. I have heard when it comes to coffee Kahwa has a strong following up there. It is always fun to see how each local cafe put's their own twist on a morning staple.
