Why is the NRA and all Gun Advocates all over this?? To stand with this woman.. oh, because she is aRead More woman? or a minority: Or they really don't believe in the propaganda they spew? Or is it just better to kill, than to use a gun as a warning, in hope not to kill????

What about the parents that allow their children to dress like this and not instill acceptableRead More social behavior? Kids grow up thinking this is acceptable and continue into adulthood dressing like this. Where is the parenting??
BETTY TURNEY July 20, 2014 at 06:36 pm
I do not have a problem with how people dress. I do however believe showing one's but should not beRead More allowed. It sets a bad example for our kids growing up.

When Dutch slave trading ships anchored off Africa they traded tools, spices and other items withRead More tribal leaders. Linda Falkner July 20, 2014 at 11:12 am
As a mental health counselor, if I had to wait for couples whose marriage was hurt by their gayRead More neighbors getting married to seek counseling, my client numbers would be ZERO. Gay and straight couples come in for identical relationship problems. People in love MUST have the right to marry their own partner and have it legally recognized. Pam Bundy needs to be voted out of office.

why is such a big deal being made of this? They only represent less than 4% of the population. WhoRead More cares, there are more important problems going on without this self centered addiction
lweigand July 23, 2014 at 12:27 pm
And that's 4% of the population that should not have to face discrimination but still do. That'sRead More why it's a big deal. If the law allowed gay people to marry, there wouldn't be an issue.

Manatee County needs to cut their losses and correct the problem going forward, not backward. MostRead More of those people probably can't afford to pay back all that money! Raises have been scarce everywhere, I am sure all of them waited patiently and deserved the raise when they finally got it. Only to have their pay adjusted and owe money? That stinks, and not to mention how many of them made a life decision based on getting a raise that may now be a complete disaster, like buying a car, or a house, putting kids in daycare etc? The fact that going back on the deal was ever even mentioned is a sad representation of the world today , just have them fulfill the final requirements!
Susan Stewart Snyder July 9, 2014 at 09:21 pm
The article states that the course wasn't completed. Why not let the workers keep the raises ifRead More they complete it within 30 days. That would be a win-win situation.
Dona Lee July 11, 2014 at 07:27 pm
I totally agree with Kim and Susan. They earned these raises and now some bean counter wants to notRead More only take them away but retroactively? No way. No hedging Manatee. You made a committment, they fulfilled the stated requirements. You don't get to change the rules. And Gene and Canary--Florida doesn't have Unions. This is a nonunion state and that means unions have no teeth here. An employer cannot be forced to abide by any union demands.

Tina - That's terrible. While our government can send zillions of dollars overseas, they can't takeRead More care of their own. There are so many poor and homless people in this country and it is a crime. Then we have thousands of kids at the border trying to get in here plus all the illegals taxing our system all the more. I say get our people out of these wars that will never end and use that money to support people like yourself who are struggling for their next meal. The only jobs that have been created during this presidency are part-time with no benefits. Who is that going to help? You are in my prayers that things will change for the better for you.

My kids were so small they were in booster seats until they were 8. There are state recommendationsRead More on the weight of the child in order for them to use a regular seat belt. I believe it is 80 lb. You also have to consider the heigth of the child. Shorter children have problems wearing the shoulder strap properly, it runs across their throat, there for they put it under their arms defeating the purpose of protecting them from going forward and hitting their heads on the back of the front seat. This happened to an acquaintance of mine and the child suffered permanent brain damage. It is just not worth the risk,

It has been obvious throughout history that ANYONE against the use of marijuana either has otherRead More agendas as Wm R. Hearst or is simply ignorant of the real facts. In this case, absolutely the only reason Sheldon Adelson would pledge $2.5 mil to try to keep marijuana illegal is that he would make way more than $2.5 mil from the alcohol he sell. No one in their right mind (other than ignorance or prejudice) could argue that the positives far out weigh the negatives. Legalizing it totally as Colorado's example, has proven to be very successful as income for the state, helping to regulate the industry to keep "drug dealers" out of the picture and help many medically needy patients to be in a much better state. While I no longer use it recreationally, I have, since the 1960's, used it almost daily. I have been one of not the top producer at every company I ever worked for, opened my own very successful business in that industry. All while smoking "one in the morning, one at noon and two in the evening". In 2006, I was a passenger in a major car accident and it really messed with my body. I now live in serious pain every day. I have a headache from both minor brain damage and many herniated discs in my neck and back. Like many others, codeine, opiates and other pain killers was the route the Dr.s wanted me to go. While it did help the pains in my knees, hips, shoulders, elbow, back and neck - it did nothing for the headaches. After several weeks, my wife and I began to notice I was no longer the same wonderful person. It had a very negative effect on my personality. Snappy, mean, not the positive person I had been all my life. Everything was negative, no hopes for the future, a half empty glass of water. So I went cold turkey. The worst two weeks of my life. When we went to visit college friends in Colorado, they offered their home grown pot. I quickly found just two hits in the am, and no high but no headache for the day. It was a God send. I felt like I was in heaven. When we can, we want to move to a state where it is legal. We got the wonderful, positive me back. Now, if I know of any "drug dealers", thugs, murders or whom ever is the class of people one would be forced to use to obtain this illegal miracle plant, I would be forced to use them. Trouble is, I have no idea where to find them. This is a miracle cure, legalize it and all the troubles currently related to it will vanish.
Magnus Thunderson June 18, 2014 at 03:54 pm
I thought Scott started to have a care of Floridians when I heard this but I very shortly suspect heRead More did. But quickly realized he did it to try to put a fight that the more inclusive medical bill this fall is not needed. and that is simply not true as charlottes web helps cancer and seizure patents but it not that helpful for you. what I would do in your case if you want to take a risk is grow you own. and to keep out of trouble do it inside in small lot and do not get greedy and try and sell it. in fact you and your wife should be the only ones who know about it. the seed can come from your friend or for those with out contact you can order seeds from Amsterdam's web sites. one note I do not use or grow it my self nor will I unless it legal

While Charlottes Web is great for some cases for many others it's not enough. For the time being IRead More have 100% legal botanical products made with CBD rich hemp oil.
