Theatrics, Jazz, ‘Popera’ Liven Up Nearby Stage

Land O' Lakes residents looking for cultural experiences nearby don't have to travel far to take in live sho ws.

Land O' Lakes residents hoping to take in a play, listen to live music or peruse paintings by some of the area’s most heralded artists don’t have to drive far to quench the thirst for culture. The April calendar of events at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road, is jam-packed with musical and artistic performances. Actors Needed for Murder Mystery Comedy

If you don't mind the short drive from Land O' Lakes, this could be a great way to exercise your acting talents.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center’s MAS Community Theatre will hold auditions for Murder’s in the Heir, an audience interactive murder mystery-comedy by Billy St. John, on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 17 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road. Based loosely on the Parker Brother’s classic board game Clue, almost every character in the production has the opportunity, motive and means to commit an unseen murder.  The play's unique ending, utilizing secret ballots gathered at intermission from the audience, will determine the murderer at the conclusion of each show. The plot follows the heirs of tyrannical billionaire Simon Starkweather, each with the means and the motive to do away with…
