If all the states eyeing a change in how they award Electoral College votes, plus Florida, had made changes in advance of the 2012 presidential election, Gov. Mitt Romney would be in the White House today and President Barack Obama would be relegated to the pages of history. That, according to the Miami Herald, is a prospect that has some Republicans jumping on the band wagon to alter how states award their Electoral College votes. It's not likely the Constitution can be amended to abolish the electoral college. However, there is a proposal already adopted by several states that would fix the problem and prevent the type of fraud being planned by the Republicans. Activist Sues 100-Plus Government Agencies in 5 Years, 41 Since November

A Florida man may be setting records for the number of lawsuits he has brought against Florida government agenices in five years, according to media reports. Joel Chandler, 48, of Lakeland admits to filing suit against 100-plus government offices, including the sheriffs of Pasco and Hillsborough counties and the city of St. Petersburg, according to an article in the Tampa Bay Times. Chandler is not about to stop either. Since November 2012, he has filed 41 lawsuits, the newspaper reports. His quest? "Ensuring Florida agencies follow public records laws," according to the Times. State Senator Opens District Office in Lutz

Land O' Lakes residents with questions or concerns about state government have a new place to turn for help. Florida State Sen. John Legg opened the doors on his new district office recently. Legg, a Republican, won a three-way primary race for the District 17 Florida Senate seat previously held by Jim Norman in August. The former state representative now serves people in communities as widespread as New Port Richey, Westchase, Lutz, Carrollwood, Trinity and Land O’ Lakes. The new district office is located at 262 Crystal Grove Blvd. in Lutz.
