Commissioner Says Libraries Need Longer Hours
Jack Mariano wants to see libraries stay open longer and park fees go away.
Pasco County Commissioners voted Feb. 19 to allow libraries to set their own hours, but the action likely didn’t go far enough for one board member. Commissioner Jack Mariano wants the county to revisit its 40-hour-a-week policy for libraries. He also wants to see Pasco do away with many of the park fees it enacted when budget constraints made it necessary to scale back on costs and increase revenues. Tuesday’s action didn’t extend library hours. The libraries need to be open on Monday even if nothing else is done. Our only income is social security and IRA that lost their value. We depend on the library internet. It would be nice not to pay entry to the parks we have paid taxes for the last 23 yrs in Pasco Co. if we can afford the gas to get there. Good job Commissioner! more ›
