If you drive through Lutz, you’ve probably seen the sign and wondered: Just what is clothing for the “free spirited”? You’re not the only one. For 16 years, Under the Sun has drawn shoppers from throughout the Bay area and beyond to the trendy, treasure-filled boutique.  But daily, the same thing happens. At least one person will stop in and say they’ve been driving by for years and never stopped, boutique co-owner Renee Christian said. Then they leave happy customers. “We have unbelievable customer loyalty,” she said. “We spoil our customers rotten.” The store’s longevity is a tribute to its success in a business that, at first thought, might sound unusual. Nudes, Blues and BBQ Fest Rocks all Weekend Long

The 2-day event at Lake Como resort will feature concerts, food, vendors and more.

Looking for something different to do in this fabulous fall weather? Take it off and take in the music at Lake Como this weekend. The nudist resort in Lutz kicks off its second annual Nudes, Blues and BBQ Fest on Friday, Nov. 9. Last year’s event drew more than 300 people, and organizers expect this weekend’s to have an even larger turnout. Friday's party starts with a blues jam led by the 2010 International Blues Competition semi-finalist Josh Lamkin. The fun continues all day Saturday with 2010 Suncoast Blues Society challenge winner Lee Pons, The Tampa Bay Blues Brothers with The Late Night Brass Band, Tampa Bay’s Arlington Road Band, Woody and the Woodtones and Innuendo with Deb Bowen and J.C. City Retreat Park and the First Nudist Boy, Girl Scouts

Now called Gulf Coast Nudist Resort, the development was the home of the original naturist Scouts in the 1970s.

Joe and Laura Swainston always wanted a naturist place of their own. In 1968, the dream became a reality when the couple purchased 40 acres  and subdivided the unrecorded plat into 182 building lots in rural Hudson. The Swainstons also set aside seven acres of the land for a new private business called City Retreat Naturist Park.  The entire subdivision was owned by City Retreat Inc., which allowed nudists to enjoy the comfort of buying and owning a home in a naturist subdivision. By 1971,  the seven acres of naturist park expanded to 10 acres, and 39 of the building lots had been sold.  A few lots were exchanged for the construction of a new pool. Bob and Louise Van Ness became managers of the resort in 1973.  In 1977, the first nudist …
