Rescue 5 Engine from 9/11 on Display at Pasco County Fire Station 37

One of the original engines that answered the call to the World Trade Center towers during 9/11 is on display at Pasco County Fire Station 37 in Land O' Lakes.

All gave some, some gave all. So goes the adage. Pasco County Fire Station 37 has the honor of hosting Rescue 5, one of the original rescue trucks than answered the call to the World Trade Center during 9/11. Rescue 4 and Rescue 5 engines were so badly damaged after the disaster that they were planed to be used for scrap. Rescue 4 and 5 were acquired by a group of firefighters and restored. They are now the only fire apparatus from 9/11 outside of New York City. They are currently on a national tour to promote 9/11 education and remembrance of firefighters. There were 12 firefighters aboard Rescue 5 when it raced to the burning buildings during 9/11. Only one of them survived. The sole survivor, Bill Spade, penned an account of the events …
