USF Releases 2013 Football Schedule

The season opener for the Bulls is set for Aug. 31 at Raymond James Stadium.

Land O' Lakes area football fans who are ready to forget last year’s lackluster University of South Florida Bulls season have a date to put on their calendars. The Bulls return to the gridiron Aug. 31 under the direction of new head coach Willie Taggart. The game is set for 7 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium, so fans won’t have to travel far. Taggart was announced as the new head coach in December following the ouster of Skip Holtz. The Florida native returned to his home state after coaching in Western Kentucky. USF Fires Skip Holtz

The beleaguered coach is on his way out after three lackluster seasons. We'd like to hear your thoughts on the decision Land O' Lakes. .

University of South Florida football fans wanted change and it looks like they’re going to get it. Rather than a shift in strategy, however, they’re going to see a change in the Bulls’ head office. Coach Skip Holtz is out of a job after yesterday’s season finale, which ended with a 27-3 loss to Pittsburg, TBO.com is reporting. Holtz had been with the Bulls for three seasons, none of which produced winning performances. Earlier this week Holtz’s record with the Bulls had The Tampa Tribune speculating that change was in the air at USF. With an overall 16-21 record in Holtz’s three years at USF, it was clear something had to give. Fans, it was reasoned, wanted to see an immediate change either on the sidelines or the scoreboard.
