Desperately Seeking Rainy Day Distractions

Are the kids bouncing off the walls yet? What are you doing to quell the cabin fever?

  As we head into day four of Debby's dreary weather in Land O' Lakes, what are you doing to keep the kids busy? If yours are anything like mine, you're probably stumbling over forts built with every sheet and pillow in the house and refereeing sibling showdowns over who has to clean up what. If you're looking to venture out for awhile, make sure the route is clear. Heavy flooding in areas of Pasco County and other parts of the Bay area are making travel difficult, if not impossible. Lucky for us, the major roadways in the Land O' Lakes area are mostly dry and moving at a normal pace. Post an Announcement or Event on Patch

It's free and easy, and here's how!

As editor of Land O’ Lakes Patch, I receive lots of emails each day from local clubs, schools, businesses and government offices. Most of these messages are news releases or invitations to events. Some of the events are repeating, such as club meetings or weekly classes, and so it only takes a few extra key strokes to make these reappear on the right dates on our calendar. It also helps that most of the announcements are so well-written that they really don't need editing on my part to be ready for publishing on Patch. I try my very best to post as many of these as I can. Thankfully, many of the emails come to me with enough advance notice that I can set aside time to retype them as an event or as an announcement.   But some of these …
