ReplyTo Julia - Thank You! Thank You! Thank You for doing what you are doing. We all need to take ownership of these problems, and do something about it, Julia, that is exactly what you are doing. I applaud you. Not only for the work you do, but the fact that you have put it here for all to realize the need for the Boys and Girls club and all the other organizations that are standing up and leveling the "starting line". Thank you so much for the comment!!!
I have to agree with Robert above as to how I meant this post.
In no way am I saying your experiences are an illusion..per se. How we see something, anything really, is what it is based on our perception. A person pulls out in front of me and I slam on the brakes. Did this event happen? Yes...but did it all happen in the way I perceived it? I can get angry at the driver, therefore I perceived this person is attacking me directly. Rather than thinking that maybe it was a mistake and I was in their blind spot. All of our actions are based on that perception. In your situation, the physical all happened in the way YOU saw it. However, change your perception and everything changes. The crack happened because: the earth is against you, you were irresponsible, you were destined to have this experience to create the person you are today, you were allowed to become closer with the person you were with, you were luck y enough to see that life is truly fragile. The point of the post was to say - each moment of our life is based on our perception and reality doesn't exist because everyone is perceiving this event in a different way therefore everyone's reality is different.chad herman motivatingforpositivechange.com

ReplyI truly believe that when we do good selfless things, the rewards are felt by more than just the receivers. It is felt by the givers, the observers, and the passer bys.

ReplyI agree. The simple act of not thanking someone can destroy so much. It shows that gratitude is going away. We have the ability to change that right now! Start sending those thank you cards out every time you want to thank anyone for anything.

I am so glad that we can all see that there is a problme in our society, and that WE MUST do something to end it. We must do something to solve the problem. This isn't a problem that affects someone else, or is in a different country. The link in the blog shows us that every city in the country is affected by a poverty that slinks its way thorugh our lives and our society.
So I add a question to this stream:
What are you going to do to help solve the problem....not solve it, help solve it.
OR
What can "WE" do to help solve this problem?
