ReplySo the mom, who legally owned guns ,could not defend herself. That defeats the gun-huggers idea that you can defend yourself with a gun. Then she fails to stop here son from taking her legals guns and killing more. If only she had a gun to defend herself.

You cannot believe what you read. Switzerland does not have an army so every male is a member of the national militia. So every male citizen has a one gun their home. They are trained, registered and monitored. But there has been discussions to stop this particulary following the recent killing. Israel does not allow guns in homes. The military, police and security people are armed to protect against terror attacks. They recently stopped solidiers from taking home their weapons to reduce the number of suicides and domestic killing using guns.

But why is death by gun rampage rate low in Switzerland and high in the USA? It must be the people owning the guns. Only let the Swiss own guns and disarm angry white men.

ReplyI think that this would be useful if you are buying a house. It would serve the same purpose as knowing that sex offenders live in a neighborhood. It would be another tool to know when house hunting. It would also be beneficial to the police, firemen or EMS knowing that there are weapons in a house before they respond.

The assault weapon ban was never enforced so it was all just words. Gun owners in gun shows shoot themselves in the foot, what better metaphor. 61% percent of gun deaths in the USA are suicides. The whole world watches violent movies and video games. The whole world have mentally ill people. It is the USA that has so much violence by guns because they are available.
What would be wrong with thorough back ground checks with psycologiacl evaluations. It would keep guns out of the 'bad guys' and the unstable. Keep guns in the right hands. Get them inspected, insured and taxed just like cars. America would be safer and there would be extra revenue to help the economy. Everyone wins.
