ReplyScott also vetoed some much needed funding for a Pasco County homeless shelter, as our homeless problems run rampant. Proposals for the new facility included a culinary kitchen which would have allowed the homeless to acquire some much needed skills for steady job placement.

ReplyThis wouldn't be the first lawsuit in Pasco County where a landowner or developer has sued adjoining land owners over code enforcement complaints or objections to a development. Unfortunately, they are trying to stop due process and a resident's right to object or complain. In one instance that I am famliar with, one land owner sued the other over code enforcement complaints and actually attempted to get an injunction to prevent them from making any further complaints-- bottom line the case was dismissed. In the case of the Amazon Drive, in my opinion, the developer hasn't been damaged and instead has confused damages with the cost of doing business!!

ReplyIn my own opinion, I think Ruby Beaulieu and her group should get together and have an accurately protrayed float in next year's parade.

ReplyDid you also know that at one time we had an East Florida and West Florida which was created under British rule? In East Florida the government was based St. Augustine, while in West Florida the government was based in Pensacola and in essence created two capitals. During the Revolutionary War both East and West Florida remained loyal to the British crown.

ReplyWhile I think John did well with what he was handed, I'm starting to see a trend here. About five years ago John came from Colorado where he worked as a city manager and likely left with a heafy severence... from Colorado he came to New Port Richey where he is now leaving with a heafty severence... from New Port Richey he's off to Oregon, where after about five years he'll likely leave with a heafty severence and head off to another city.

I think it would be fitting to have a Johnny Cash tribute band since the man in black did consider New Port Richey his second home. This would also tie right back into our local history as Johnny did visit the Hacienda on a few special occassions, pictures of which are there to prove it!
