America turns 235 on Monday and there are plenty of events scheduled to help mark the milestone. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the red, white and blue, here is a listing of events in Land O’ Lakes or within a short drive:
When/Where: This event takes place July 4 at Willow Bend Community Church, 2541 Henley Road in Lutz. The celebration starts at 2 p.m. Daniel Rodriguez, America’s Tenor, will perform at 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is a free event that’s open to the community. It features carnival-style games, a bounce house, a mobile arcade and more.
Price: Free to attend, but Games2U games will cost some money.

When/Where: This celebration kicks off at 8 a.m. and runs into the afternoon in the area surrounding the Lutz Library at 101 Lutz-Lake Fern Road.
Why Go: This is an old-fashion, flag-waving celebration complete with a parade that begins at 10 a.m.
Price: There is no charge to attend, but some activities and food cost money.
When/Where: This annual event takes place at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52 in Dade City. The gates open at 4 p.m. and fireworks are expected to being around 9:15 p.m.
Why Go: This is an old-fashion, annual event that features vendors, a hot-dog eating contest, fireworks and more.
Price: Parking costs $5 and adult admission is $5 per person. Children 12 and under get in free. Refreshments and vendor items also come at a price.
When/Where: This event is an all-day celebration that starts at 2 p.m. and ends around 10 at 615 Channelside Drive in Tampa.
Why Go: This 10th annual event features family entertainment, dragon-boat races, water ski shows, live music and more. Fireworks are also on tap at 9 p.m.
Price: Free, but bring money for refreshments.
