Authorities: Dress With 'Inner Compartments' Not Enough to Conceal Theft

Tiffany Ciecierska was arrested Monday, July 29 after trying to steal electronics from the Wesley Chapel Best Buy.

Despite preparation, a would-be thief failed to make away with the goods at an electronics store. 

Tiffany Ciecierska, 24, of Chicago, was arrested Monday, July 29 and charged with aggravated grand retail theft and three counts of use or possession of anti-shoplifting countermeasure devices.

According to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office affidavit, Ciecierska entered the Wesley Chapel Best Buy store with “electronic anti-shoplifting countermeasure” devices and wearing a specially made dress with inner compartments.

Ciecierska, working with two unidentified males, used the dress to conceal nearly $1,400 worth of electronic products and then tried to walk out of the store at 5947 Wesley Grove Blvd. without paying, authorities said.

Ciercierska was stopped by store security and admitted to the theft, the affidavit said. The two males were not apprehended.

Ciecierska was taken to Land O’ Lakes jail and later released on $4,000 bond.
