Inmate Wrecks Sheriff's Office Computer

A 21-year-old Hudson man poured water on the device because he wanted to be moved out of his housing pod.

A Land O’ Lakes Jail inmate was slapped with a criminal mischief charge after pouring water onto a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Jesse Alonso, 21, of Hudson intentionally poured water onto a sheriff’s office laptop that was left open on a desk, according to authorities. The action left the device damaged beyond repair.

The damage was estimated at more than $1,250. The reason for the action? Alonso wanted to be moved out of his housing pod, according to authorities.

Alonso has been locked up since Aug. 13 on charges of domestic battery, grand theft-motor vehicle and obstructing an officer without violence.
