Man Attacks Another With Sword, Authorities Say

A Land O’ Lakes man was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after attacking another man with a sword, authorities say.

Jean Baptiste Pun, 50, of Quandrangle Court, was arrested Monday, Sept. 2 after using the weapon to strike another man in the knee, elbow and back, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The injuries to the other man are considered minor.

Pun said he hit the man with the sword after he was struck first, authorities say, but authorities said there was no evidence to support the self-defense claim.

Pun was taken to Land O’ Lakes Jail, where he was being held Tuesday on $10,000 bond.
