Land O' Lakes High Sanctioned by Florida High School Athletic Association

What do you think of the penalties the school faces?

The Florida High School Athletic Assocation ruled Wednesday that , according to the Pasco Tribune.

The school self-reported the violations earlier this month, the Tribune reported, which led the FHSAA to reduce the fines from a possible $80,000 ($2,500 per game) to $3,200 ($100 per game).

The penalties should remain at the $80,000. If it's an FHSAA rule that $2,500.00 to $3,000.00 per game be fined and there are over 40 games, then it should stick. The Principal should have checked with the Athletic Director and verified that all students enrolled in Athletics for Land O' Lakes High School were all students that are legally (within the school district or school zone) allowed to play and represent this school. I blame the Athletic Director and the Principal. These two are at-fault of this huge fine and are fault for having the honest players stripped of their accomplishments. The parents of these honest students should raise holy hell about this to the school board. Epic Fail....Epic Fine... Fire those that are responsible: The AD and the Principal. You both dropped the ball.

Rhonda has one thing right, fine those responsible. Unfortunately, she has who they are wrong. The responsible party is the parents who provided the school with a false address. When the students registered they gave an address and a bill (that's what most schools require, so I guess it's the same there). According to what I've read, that address was within their zone, and the bill would match. So how can you expect the AD and principal to go to everyone's house? Parents cheating the system are the problem.
