Students Showcase Desserts, Compete for Royal Accolades

Sample the creations of culinary arts students as they compete for the title of 'Cinderella's Favorite Dessert' on Thursday, Jan. 17.

In the mood for something sweet? You can get a taste of the action that happens in Pasco County schools' culinary arts program and make a difference at the same time.

Students will compete for the title of "Cinderella's Favorite Dessert" on Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Land O' Lakes High School.

Local "celebrity" judges will determine who is crowned, and the winning team will have their creation showcased at the Pasco Education Foundation's upcoming Cinderella Ball, according to a foundation press release.

Dessert viewing begins at 5 p.m.; judging begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available at the door.

The Pasco Education Foundation's black tie event, The Cinderella Ball "One Enchanted Evening" will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Heritage Springs Country Club.
