Mass Valentine’s Day Weddings to Be Held in Pasco

This is the fourth year the group ceremony has taken place on Feb. 14.

Paula O’Neil is a sucker for romance.

After all, she's planning to preside over a group wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day.

This year will mark the fourth year O'Neil, Pasco’s clerk of the court and comptroller, has staged a group wedding ceremony on the lawn outside the historic Dade City courthouse on Feb. 14.

"The tradition of marriage and the historic atmosphere of Dade City are a perfect match for a momentous occasion and a new beginning," O’Neil said on her website. "We look forward to joining lives together among the historic trees and beautiful architecture."

While the ceremony is only a few days away, there’s still time for couples to take part. To do so, couples must register for the ceremony while applying for their marriage license. The cutoff to apply is Friday, Feb. 10. Standard marriage license fees do apply, as does the three-day waiting period to get married. The cost of a license is $93.50.

This year’s ceremony will include live harp music by Jessica Cardwell, heart cakes from Publix and gifts for each couple from Kiefer Village Jewelers, according to the clerk’s website. Personalized photo packages and decorative marriage certificates are also available at an extra charge.

The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. Feb. 14 at 37918 Meridian Ave. in Dade City. Family and friends are invited to attend.
