5 Things Includes Atlantis’ Final Flight, Live Music

What do you need to know today, July 8?

It’s finally Friday! If you’re wondering what’s happening around town, here are five things to consider as you go about your day:

  • It should be a hot one – The weather today is expected to feature more of the same. Highs are anticipated in the 90s with lows in the 70s. Rain is possible today, too.
  • Atlantis should make its final flight – As long as the weather cooperates, around 11:26 a.m. today. This shuttle mission is the last for the American program.
  • You can step up to health – If you want to get fit, consider the class at Candlewood Community Church. This no-cost group exercise class features a variety of exercises and runs Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
  • You can enjoy some coffee and music – If you’re looking for a way to wind down tonight, consider stopping by Organic Life. The coffeehouse offers in a family friendly environment.
  • History was made today – While Atlantis’ final flight is the history-making moment today, the Declaration of Independence was still the news of the day in 1776. On July 8, 1776, the Liberty Bell rang in Philadelphia to herald the first public reading of this historic document.
