Trying to keep up with everything going on around town during a summer weekend is no easy task. To help you out, we’ve put together a few ideas that might be of interest:
When/Where: This live performance takes place Thursday starting at 8 p.m. at Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road in Tampa.

Price: $7

When/Where: This event takes place Friday at the Lutz Community Center, 98 1st Ave. N.W. from 7 to 9 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy ice cream, games and more while helping the Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club’s candidate for Honorary Guv’na, Annette Bellingar, raise “votes.”
Price: $15 per person or $25 per couple.
When/Where: Organic Life, 1900 Oak Grove Blvd., plays host to this event from 7 to 11 p.m.
Why Go: Listen to live music in a family friendly, coffeehouse atmosphere.
Price: No charge to attend, but coffee and food do cost money.
When/Where: This weekly event takes place at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center on Saturday just after sundown.
Why Go: Check out “Independence Day” for free on the big screen. Bring along a blanket or chair and have fun with this outdoor movie experience.
Price: Free. Refreshments cost $1 each and a slice of pizza is $2.
When/Where: This event takes place Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Whiskey Willy’s, 1624 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
Why Go: This is a 21-plus evening show to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. It features singing, dancing, comedy and prizes.
Price: $7.
