Get Out: Weekend Events Preview April 21-24

There’s a lot going on in the area this weekend, so why stay home? We’ve put together a list of fun things to do in Land O’ Lakes and nearby.

When/Where: The Land O’ Lakes Library, 2818 Collier Parkway, plays host to this event at 11:30 a.m. April 21.

Why Go: Caregivers and babies can enjoy a nice morning out while listening to stories.

Price: Free

When/Where: This event takes place every Friday night at A Cup of Organic, 1900 Oak Grove Blvd, starting at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy dinner and coffee while listening to family friendly musical acts. The shop has its own children’s room, so youngsters don’t have hang out with their parents if they don’t want to.

Price: Free, but coffee and food do cost money.

When/Where: The annual event takes place April 23 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd.

Why Go: This event features food, games and a candy scramble for the kids.

Price: Free to attend, but snacks cost $1 a person.

When/Where: This event takes place at 20545 County Line Road in Lutz, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: This event features an art show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., live blues by Josh Lamkin from 4 to 6 p.m. and a hot air balloon static glow display from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting.

Price: Free

When/Where: The Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., plays host to this event April 23 starting at sunset.

Why Go: Take in the second movie in the Indiana Jones series, “Temple of Doom,” at no charge. Families can bring their lawn chairs, blankets and coolers or buy popcorn and sodas on site for a nominal charge.

Price: Free to attend

When/Where: CrossPointe Church of the Nazarene, 919 Debuel Road, in Lutz offers this event on April 24.

Why Go: This event is designed for the kids. It features children’s worship at 9 and 11 a.m. with a community Easter egg hunt and breakfast with the Easter bunny at 10:15 a.m.

Price: Free
