SwampFest Weather Looking Great

A cold front is expected to deliver cool, dry conditions just in time for the annual carnival.

Just because it’s called the doesn’t mean festival goers want to muck through the mud to enjoy a weekend of rides and entertainment. According to Richard Rude of the National Weather Service, Land O’ Lakes residents won’t have to.

The cold front that moved into the area on Thursday evening is moving out this morning, Nov. 4, leaving in its wake clear skies and cool temperatures, said Rude, a meteorologist with the weather service’s Ruskin office. While there’s a chance for rain this morning, the rest of the weekend is looking pretty dry, Rude added.

Land O’ Lakes residents can look for highs around 70 today with a low in the upper 40s. Saturday should bring clear and sunny skies with a high in the low 70s and a low in the 50s. Light winds are expected with gusts up to 25 mph throughout the weekend.
