Land O' Lakes Dining Options 'Woefully Lacking?'

Do the Land O' Lakes dining options leave you hungry for more diversity?

There's that well-worn phrase about a locale being a great place to visit, but one wouldn't want to live there.

Well, in this community, some might say "Land O' Lakes is a great place to live, but I wouldn't want to eat here."

Land O' Lakes Patch recently asked readers on Facebook where the best dining options were in their community. Ukuele Brand's, Benedetto's Ristorante Italiano and Capital Tacos were about the only in-town eateries mentioned.

Several people agreed with Billy Grimm's assessment that Land O' Lakes is "woefully lacking in quality eating establishments." Grimm said that aside from Hungry Harry's BBQ, residents have to go outside of the community to get a decent bite.

Here's what others had to say:

  • Patricia Castagliola- Scholl There isn't any place. Wesley Chapel had Texas Roadhouse which is decent but I go out of town for good food. Palm Harbor has @The Lucky Dill. I think it's NPR that has Ross' or Rossi Italian Restaurant which is very good.
  • Shannon Young Unfortunately LOL is not a mecca of good food. Not much here I would suggest. ... I guess I'm looking for more diversity up here. The typical unhealthy, fad laden, boring bar food just doesn't do it for me.
  • Caruso Ville We leave LOL for dinner - nothing around here - I hope more restaurants come this way.
  • Heather Johnson Guida Yes, we need MORE places.....we also will drive to get better quality food.
Patch blogger Martin Roberts in May 2012 wrote about Land O' Lakes being a bit of a culinary wasteland.

"Obviously, we live 'out in the boonies' where food is concerned, so let's send a message that we'll take our money out of the area if it means we don't have to settle for what's available in LOL," he typed.
