Victim Nabs Auto Burglar

The suspect was connected to three other break-ins.

A July 17 auto burglary spree in Lutz and Land O’ Lakes came to an abrupt end when one of the suspects in the case was caught in the act by an intended victim.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, the suspect broke into a car parked on Waterbury Court in Lutz around 5:20 a.m. July 17. While the would-be burglar was in the process of taking a music CD, some paperwork and three lottery tickets from a Buick Century, the car’s owner confronted him.

The victim, the affidavit said, detained the suspect until Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene. Once there, deputies also discovered illegal prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia on the suspect.
