Woman Almost Hits Deputy, Gets Arrested for DUI, Child Neglect

The incident took place on Collier Parkway last night.

A Land O’ Lakes woman remained behind bars today after a Pasco County deputy said she almost hit him with her vehicle’s mirror as he was directing traffic on Collier Parkway Dec. 6.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, the incident took place just before 10 p.m. as the deputy was conducting traffic in the area of . The woman, he said, nearly struck him with the mirror of her 2007 Ford Expedition.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and noticed signs of impairment from the driver, the affidavit said. A DUI investigator was called out to the scene. The woman performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew above the legal limit on two separate breath tests, the report said.

A teenager and pre-teen were in the vehicle at the time of the woman’s arrest, said Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrested was Nicole Maloney, 40, of 8722 Winsome Way. She was charged with DUI and two counts of child neglect. She remained in the Land O’ Lakes Jail today on $20,000 bond.
