Connerton Principal Out: What You’re Saying

News of Pasco County School Superintendent Kurt Browning's decision to recommend termination for Principal Anna Falcone has Land O' Lakes residents talking. What are your thoughts?

When news broke Friday, March 22 that a recommendation had been made to fire Connerton Elementary School Principal Anna Falcone, Land O’ Lakes residents responded in force.

Both the story on Land O’ Lakes Patch and our Facebook page blew up with comments from readers who applaud the turn of events and from those who don’t.

Pasco County School Superintendent Kurt Browning has placed Falcone on administrative leave and is recommending termination over charges of insubordination. Falcone’s leadership at the school has been the subject of scrutiny for months. Some parents staged a protest calling for her removal last year.

Elizabeth Groves agreed.

“I was one of the families that moved from the area because if Anna Falcone and the problems at COES,” she wrote. “I am very happy, my wish came true!”

Land O’ Lakes Patch Facebook fan April Connell had this to say: “This should have been handled last year when she first had problems.”

Others, however, had a different take on the news.

“Many did not like her but that doesn't mean you have to get so much happiness out of her pain,” wrote Patch reader D. Kerr.

Former Connerton employee Demetrius Mitchell urged people to remember Falcone’s accomplishments.

“I worked under Mrs. Falcone at Connerton and found her to be very pleasant and caring for staff and students,” he wrote. “An ‘A’ grade the first 2 years of the school being open should not be forgotten.”

A reader who goes by the name “Annafalconesupporter” was upset by the news.

“It’s not fair Anna is a great principal my child goes there and loves it. Sometimes teachers have to be mean to make sure people don't think they can walk all over them.”
