The Pasco County school district will begin the process of notifying employees of .
According to Summer Ragmanoli, the district’s spokeswoman, many of the affected employees will find out later today if their jobs have been cut as part of the budget balancing efforts. A total of are affected with 55 coming from the district level and 458 out of schools directly.
The school district is facing a budget shortfall of more than $54.4 million. In an effort to close that gap, school board members voted May 17 to move forward with the layoff proposal.
