What's Up In Area Schools?

Trying to keep up with school calendars can be tough for busy parents. To help you out, we’ve put it all in one place.

Here’s a look at events and activities taking place in schools in the Land O’ Lakes area March 28-April 1:

• Academy at the Lakes, 2220 Collier Pky. – A varsity softball game is scheduled March 28 at 4 p.m. against Bishop MacLaughlin. On Tuesday, March 29, the upper division’s honors ceremony is planned at 9:35 a.m. and the middle division will honor its best at 2 p.m. Sports on tap Tuesday include middle division baseball and varsity baseball and tennis. The varsity tennis team plays March 30 at 4 p.m. at Lake Padgett Estates. They have a match again on April 1 against the Sunlake girls.
• Land O’ Lakes Christian School, 5105 School Rd. – The honor roll chapel is set for March 31.
• Connerton Elementary, 9300 Flourish Dr. – Report cards go home on March 28 and the science fair is planned March 29. The unity/charger concert is set March 31 and the Champion Day Carnival is April 1.
• Denham Oaks Elementary, 1422 Oak Grove Blvd. – Report cards go home March 28.
• Lake Myrtle Elementary School, 22844 Weeks Blvd. – Report cards go home March 28 and the school’s science fair is planned March 30. The science fair awards ceremeny is set for March 31. Rockin’ Writers will be recognized April 1.
• Oakstead Elementary, 19925 Lake Patience Rd. – Report cards go home March 28 and Green Spirit Day is planned April 1.
• Pine View Elementary, 5333 Parkway Blvd. – Report cards go out March 28 and the Spring Concert is set for 7 p.m. at the Wesley Chapel Center for the Arts. McDonald’s Night is set for March 30.
• Charles S. Rushe Middle, 18654 Mentmore Blvd. – Track practice takes place all week after school from 3 to 5 p.m. The drama club meets March 28 at 3 p.m. and report cards will be distributed. On March 30, the Dad’s Club Breakfast is set for 7:30 a.m. The National Junior Honor Society’s eighth-grade meeting is set for 3 p.m. March 30. Spring personality portraits will also be taken on Wednesday.
• Pine View Middle, 5334 Parkway Blvd. – Report cards go out March 28 and an extended day is planned, as well. FCAT retakes are scheduled for March 30-April 1. Another extended day is on the calendar for March 30.
• Land O’ Lakes High School, 20325 Gator Ln. – Report cards go out March 28 and Club Day is set for March 29. FCAT retakes start March 30.
• Sunlake High School, 3023 Sunlake Blvd. – Report cards go out March 28.
